Beginning of the Class
At the start of the class, you will choose what you want to create.
The instructor will guide you through the available options.
Wheel Throwing
The first part of the pottery class focuses on working with the pottery wheel.
You will shape the basic form of your piece.
Hand-Building & Detailing
After wheel throwing, you will refine your piece at the table.
You may add handles (e.g., for a mug) or small decorative elements.
The instructor will help with shaping and detailing.
Decoration / Painting (Optional)
If you chose a class with painting, you will paint your piece during the same session.
The instructor will help you select colors and teach you painting techniques.
If you opted for a non-painted piece, you can still add decorative textures and patterns.
Picking Up Your Finished Piece
After 2-4 weeks, you can pick up your piece at the studio during working hours of the Chevy Chase community center without an appointment.
Bring your tracking number to claim your piece.
This is the final step—your unique ceramic creation is now yours to take home!
